Festivities Warehouse
The Festivities Warehouse project was a freelance assignment carried out for Festivities, an events service operating in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul area of Minnesota. Festivities, which was experiencing a period of rapid growth, relocated to a new warehouse space in 2015 and was looking for a cohesive organizational-wayfinding solution for their employees. Festivites' needs were complex; items in dozens of categories, from chairs and tables to glassware and decorative accents, had to be located at a moment's notice. My solution also had to be durable enough to stand up to the rigors of the warehouse environment and flexible enough that it could be reorganized and expanded to meet future needs. The solution I developed combined easily legible wayfinding signage and a hierarchical system for keeping track of the thousands of inventoried items. With a five-tiered organizational scheme extending from an intuitive warehouse map to repositionable magnetic item labels, my solution drastically improved the efficiency of the warehouse and the experience of those who work there.
