Ingot Passive Phone Amp
The Ingot is a passive phone amplifier, meaning that it can amplify the sound of a cell phone’s speakers though non-electronic means. When a cell phone is placed in the slot in the top of the Ingot, the speakers face downwards and align with holes in the bottom of the slot. Sound then enters a funnel-shaped echo chamber, where it is amplified. By the time audio exits through the opening in the front of the device, it is loud enough to be heard throughout a large room. The Ingot is designed to play music, although it can also be used for hands-free phone calls using speakerphone. Every unit is made of reclaimed wood from historical row houses in Philadelphia.
